I’m about to start a new kitchen project with a client so I thought it was the perfect time to post some kitchen design inspiration. Kitchens are expensive to do so it’s really important to carefully think through all your needs. Create a wish list and a notebook of ideas, you’ll soon see the looks that you’re drawn to time after time. Traditionally, kitchen design centers on a work triangle (sink/refrigerator/stove) which really is all about functionality and making sure things are at a workable distance. Even the tiniest of kitchens can have everything you need with careful planning.
Drawers everywhere you can! In my opinion, use drawers instead of cabinets wherever you can. It is so much easier to organize spices, pots and pans and all the assorted kitchen tools. Drawers also work really well in a pantry cabinet.
Even the garbage and recycling function well in a drawer, also out of sight.
A chalkboard gives this kitchen charm and it looks like a fun way to stay organized.
Great rustic texture from the beams and painted brick. The open shelving and the wall with just a hood allows the kitchen to not feel heavy.
Loving the copper elements in these kitchens.
Cameron Diaz’s stunning Manhattan kitchen by Kelly Wearstler.
I’m really drawn to grey cabinetry lately. This kitchen is really special with the soft grey cabinets and brass details.
Bobby Flay’s gorgeous blue cabinetry with “bistro” furnishings make this kitchen so inviting. I’d want to hang out here.
Mixing up the woods on the cabinetry creates a much more interesting kitchen.
A pop of red on the island brings this kitchen to life.
Love this sleek modern kitchen with warm Madagascar ebony wood and a lime green island.
I think John Legend & Chrissy Teigen’s kitchen is so quirky and interesting and full of personality.
Simplicity for a clean modern take.
